The app seems to be a partial port from the iOS version (support pages still reference iPhones and carplay). Android Auto is not supported - skip this one and use your kids' iPhone instead. edit: updating my review to 4 stars since the tours are excellent, and the purchased tours transferred to a different phone using the same account

Mahalo for the feedback! We’re sorry for the confusion. The Shaka Guide app works on both iOS and Android, but currently, it doesn’t support Android Auto due to compatibility issues with our offline GPS model (works great with Apple CarPlay). If you need help, please email your purchase receipt to aloha@shakaguide.com for a refund. 😊

The app was great but there was some technical problem whereby the commentary cut out for a few seconds every minute. Also the 'knowing laughs' were irkesome. Manageable but irritating. Otherwise it would be a 5 star rating because the content is good. It might be worth explaining that the drive back on the south side of East Maui into the setting sun is a little challenging.

We were sceptical about GPS audio guides after reading a few reviews but we're so glad we took a punt. The GPS worked so well with the guide kicking in at the exact right moment. The background Hawaiian music was perfect for the beautiful drive when the guide wasn't speaking. The guide was the right level of informative but engaging with some genuinely useful tips and spots to checkout as well as to avoid. Would highly recommend and will use in future - thank you for an awesome day out!
