Never leave reviews on apps but after reading all of the negative feedback of people straight up claiming the app is trash and doesn't work, I had to. The app DOES work, and it does so amazingly well, so long as you have a good setup. Currently running on a Chromecast 4K (over 500mb WiFi), hooked up to my desktop that has hard wired ethernet. Straight up feels like I'm playing natively on console. Pro tip: if you have a 4K TV, in the steam link settings set it to enhanced 4K. Thank me later :)

Great app. I use it while work is dead and I gotta kill time but they really need to add an option to close a game when the stream is unresponsive. It will be working fine then the game will have a hiccup and crash the app and if I reopen the app and try to reconnect it'll just say couldn't connect to network relay and it leaves my pc running a video game til I get home only to find out it's all running fine and the only issue being the app couldn't connect to the game.

The streaming itself is quite good, and being able to play big titles in the palm of your hands at bed or on the couch is an extremely exciting prospect. That said there are some quite sizeable drawbacks. Before that however I thought it would be a better idea to go over the good. Taking into account internet speeds the streaming is (usually) solid. Streaming from my computer which has a wired internet connection proved almost no problem in most situations, with me often being given the freedom to stream at the highest practically possible visual fidelity. Any dips and hitches I did face were mostly due to my shaky internet connection at peak times. The application's GUI is also quite intuitive, limited as it may be. Before I get into the bad, I would like to clarify that I am not writing any of the criticisms on stone, as I am alert that the application is a beta. All the negatives will be subject to change, should sufficient updates patch up the issues. Streaming inexplicably freezes when I slide down the phones option menu to change simple parameters such as screen bright. This is by far one of my major gripes, forcing me to exit and recenter streaming when I do decide to swipe from above my screen. Whilst I do play with a controller most of the time, a higher level of customizability for on screen buttons is a must. This issue sticks out like a sore thumb, as users are not able to save controller profiles, change button opacities and effectively provide shortcuts and macros, (the laters exclusion being the least surprising). This isn't really an issue, but rather a possible quality of life improvement I would love to see, especially for folk who play games that require more precise target play; the use the phones gyroscope. This seems like a missed opportunity to me as it would greatly improve aiming in a wide arrange of games. The use of the gyroscope is nothing new, as proven by the implementation of it with the Steam controller.
