Simple to use when it works. Have had to reinstall twice. Works fine until next time then just closes down whilst logging in so have delete and reinstall. Clearly not yet stable on android. 30/10/20 still doesn't work. I log in, input the security code then it shuts down. Have to uninstall then reinstall every time I need to input latest data. Surely it can not be beyond the ability of some one to sort this problem out? 1/11/20: here we go again. Uninstall/reinstall to make this bad app work.

The study I’m on asks me to log data (HR, SpO2, etc) three times a week. I use the app because I’m supporting and supportive of the study. But, given free choice I wouldn’t as…. It really isn’t very good. • Usability Each piece of information needs to be entered on a separate page. So, press on one parameter (say, SpO2); on the next screen press on the % field (it doesn’t default to filling that in), enter the number, dismiss the numerical entry pad so as to be able to access the done button. Then, at last, pass submit. And wait. And wait. And get sidetracked into something else. And the phone goes to sleep. Then eventually it returns to the main list of parameters and repeat for the next one. This easily spins entering the five numbers I need to enter to taking 3-4 minutes. How much simpler it could be if they’d done some simple usability testing. I think the app tries to send back each piece of information individually when it has been submitted - that is what takes the time. If, instead, it stored the information locally and then sent it all back once everything had been collected (and connectivity is available) it could be so much better for the user. • Reliance on connectivity You can’t submit results unless the phone has data connectivity. If you go somewhere with no coverage… no data collection. The right way to do it would be to store the data locally, then send it once connectivity is available. (And the payload is so small, it could even be sent via SMS). What’s worse, in areas of no WiFi and poor connectivity, the phone will, by design, crank up the power to try (often in vain) to talk to a cell tower. This extra EM radiation interfered with the thermometer I was using to take measurements. Not directly the apps fault, but something to be aware of. This would be forgivable if the app had been rushed out. But I’ve been using it for at least six months and, while there’s been updates, noting to improve these shortcomings. You would be better off entering the data using Google Sheets (with off-line access enabled for when you have no data connectivity). Fewer clicks, no reliance on connectivity. Still, there’s a few positives: • Symptoms have a slider to express the intensity - so you can differentiate mild sore throat from something serious. Definitely a good feature, and well implemented. • Seems to be reasonably reliable when in coverage. Or at least reliable for me. • If your phone, like mine, has the flash some way away from the camera (which makes for better photography, but worse oximetry!), you can't use the app's built-in HR measurement, so it lets you enter the results manually.

The idea is good but the app had a white screen and would not launch after one days use. Had to reload and is working well again. Connected my readings to a covid hub the monitor my readings three times a day and a doctor would ring if my results were not stable to check on me. Very very good service.
