This used to be a fantastic game but then came the questionable update that switched it from a truly skill based game to another pay to win model. Auto dodge and a heavy reliance on loot boxes completely broke the gameplay. It was a shock when returning to the game after a few years. It wouldn't be so bad if the networking wasn't so intolerant of the slightest hiccup in traffic forcing a forfeit. The bones of a great game are still in there, but it's just tedious now.

It's a great game to kill time and helps you understand the rules of a fencing (Epee) better. I only wish there was 3 different classes, ie Foil, Epee, and Sabre, and that you could match with players and use the particular styles against each other. It's weird having primarily thrust weapons going against weapons like Sabre, made for cutting.

Great game. Isn't pay to win. Whilst there are options to speed things up by using real money, it's not required at all, and is fast enough without. Some critiscms of the team ranking and seasons. It's done accumulatively, this means that you have teams with 1 or sometimes 0 people who have logged in within 100 days and are at the top. Points should reset each season, as effectively with enough points you don't need to log in or play again to keep on winning.
